The Restaurant

One of the area's most beautiful dining rooms with its elegant Cherrywood paneling. An outstanding local reputation for cuisine and service has been achieved. Modern British gourmet cooking is provided by Gerry Godden and his team. Menus are imaginative offering a superb choice and are priced extremely reasonably, complemented by an excellent and reasonably priced wine list.

Recommended by the Good Food Guide 2003 and awarded 2 AA Rosettes and 3 RAC Dining Awards.

The Food

As quoted by the AA Restaurant Guide 2003:

"Notably hospitable staff dispense professional service but the approach is unstuffy and whilst the food is taken seriously the atmosphere is not too reverential. The style is classic and broadly French with a welcome enthusiasm for the use of local fish. Depth of flavour is a real strength in dishes like lamb and black pudding sausage with warm lentils and an excellent jus or shiraz glazed breast of duck with red wine risotto and roasted onions. Familiar desserts are well-executed with sticky banana pudding with butterscotch sauce a satisfying example."


Business Entertainment

Business entertainment is very popular with our 50 minute business lunches.Two car parks are conveniently located on either side of The Mansion House



The less formal Bistro provides a simpler, yet an equally enticing menu. Stone walls and stripped Oak furniture help to create a more rustic atmosphere. The Bistro is only open to hotel guests and members of the Dining Club.
